Release Highlights

  • The Annotation App now uses RXTX instead of javax.comm for serial communications
  • All applications will be deployed using Java Web Start rather than installers.
  • A Beta version of the Knowledgebase application is now available. It has a number of known issues which are scheduled to be resolved in VARS 3.0.1
  • Initial support for annotating high-definition (HD) tape is included. Full support is pending an update to the merge processing between the EXPD and VARS databases
  • This release corresponds to version 1.0.4 at http://vars.sourceforge.net
